ParkFast Alert: Alternate Side Parking Suspended and Bridge Closures

Alternate side parking (street cleaning) regulations will be suspended Tuesday through Friday, March 26-29 for Passover, Holy Thursday and Good Friday. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.

The Brooklyn Bridge will be closed to Manhattan-bound traffic from 12:01 am to 7 am Saturday and 12:01 am to 9 am Sunday to perform necessary long term rehabilitation and repainting work. Brooklyn-bound traffic will be maintained as will the pedestrian and cycling path. Manhattan-bound motorists will be detoured to the nearby Manhattan Bridge. The northbound FDR Drive exit to the Brooklyn Bridge will be closed starting one hour before the bridge closure hours.

The south outer roadway of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge eastbound to Queens will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 2 am to 2 pm to facilitate MTA overhead track structure work. During this time, motorists should use the lower level of the bridge at 2nd Avenue and East 59th Street or enter the upper level (passenger cars) from East 57th Street or East 58th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues in Manhattan. The weekend work is expected to continue into early April.

The south tube of the Battery Park Underpass between Route 9A/West Street and the FDR Drive and one of two lanes in the north tube will be closed from 1 am to 8 am Saturday to facilitate NY State DOT construction activity. These closures will continue until approximately July.

The Bronx-Whitestone Bridge will be fully closed for about 15 minutes on Saturday between 2 am and 5 am for overhead sign replacement by the MTA. One lane in each direction will be closed on Saturday from 12:01 am until noon. Motorists should expect delays.

The Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek will be closed to traffic from 8 am to 1 pm on Saturday to facilitate bridge repairs. Motorists should use the Metropolitan Avenue Bridge as a detour.

The FDR Drive service road between East 30th Street and East 34th Street will be closed from 10 pm Friday to 4 pm Saturday and from 10 pm Saturday to 4 pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

The following streets will be closed on Sunday:

* The pedestrian plaza on Broadway between 34th Street and 35th Street and 34th Street and 35th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue (curb lanes only) in Manhattan will be closed from 10 am to 9 pm for the 39th Annual Macy’s Flower Show.
* 4th Avenue between Marine Avenue and 95th Street and 5th Avenue between 95th Street and 59th Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 1 pm to 3 pm for the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
