The Brooklyn Bridge will be closed to Manhattan-bound traffic for the entire weekend, from midnight Friday to 6 am Monday for deck concrete placement. Manhattan-bound motorists from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the Hugh L. Carey Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Motorists from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge or RFK Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel. The Manhattan Bridge will accommodate 5 lanes of traffic inbound/westbound and two lanes outbound/eastbound.
The Thomson Avenue approach ramps to the upper roadways of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge will have one lane in each direction maintained Saturday and Sunday from 2 am until 2 pm to facilitate MTA overhead sign structure work.
East 59th Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue will be closed from 7 am to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate NYC Department of Design & Construction trunk water main and utility work. Motorists should use alternate routes and posted detours to access the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge such as 2nd Avenue southbound or East 58th Street eastbound onto the 2nd Avenue contra flow lane.
The northbound exit of the FDR Drive to East Houston Street will be closed from 10 am to 10 pm Saturday and Sunday.
